Wow!! How rare is this? An Alfa Romeo 2000 or 2600 Sprint (designed by Giugiaro and built by Bertone) parked quite casually in York in the company of a whole host of humdrum British cars. We often see Giulias but this is subtly different – notice the swage line coming off the top of the rear wheel arch and the very distinctive hubcaps and the badge on the front wing will be either 2000 or 2600 over a Bertone insignia. Lovely.
The statue is that of the York artist William Etty, who is famous for his nudes. To my my mind Giugiaro’s bodywork is also a masterpiece.
