No Car, No Memorial

I don’t normally buy a postcard if it hasn’t got a car in it, and only once before on this blog has there been a postcard without a car in it – A Breakdown in 1903 – but when I saw this, I just had to have it.

Freuchie in Scotland before the war memorial

It was taken before 1910, when it was posted, and predates the postcard on A Bullnose Pays its Respects and shows not only a time before cars were common, but before the war memorial was erected outside the Lomond Hills Hotel in Freuchie, which back then was simply the Lomond Hotel.
