Freuchie War Memorial

A Bullnose pays its Respects

We went up to Scotland for New Year and stayed at this delightful hotel in Freuchie in Fife, between Edinburgh and Perth.  This postcard was framed and hung on a wall in the hotel. I like the composition; the Celtic cross war memorial in the centre flanked by the man on the left and the Bullnose Morris on the right with the buildings behind.

Nowadays all three buildings form the hotel and the names of those who fell in the Second World War have been added to the memorial.

I wanted to position my car where the Bullnose was, but he seems to be on the wrong side of the road and the modern double yellow lines prevented me from parking up there. Anyway, this was New Year’s Day 2019 so Happy New Year to all who find this little blog!
