Back in Felpham

What a lovely back she has, but surely those can’t all be her kids?

I’m not what the other back belongs to as wooden shooting brake bodies were common in the thirties. Here’s a Bentley…


But the one in Felpham is a little more like this 1937 Ford…


Or even more like this American one which has a similarly curved┬árear bumper…

The Fox Inn, by the way, burnt down in 1946 (there’s a picture of it on fire here) but it was obviously rebuilt and looks much the same today.


Anyway, back to the back. I was surprised to see so much, but then stumbled upon this forties’ pattern. I like it a lot more than the rear of that Woody.
