Here’s another nice postcard of the Menton border crossing and two very different looking policemen to the ones we saw in A Phantom at Menton. We’re pretty close to the white triangle now!

It was written on 29 April 1921 and posted to a Mademoiselle Eugenie in Conteville (Somme) on 3 May.

And the car? I’m thinking a pre-First World War Fiat?

And 1861? That was when the area (the Comté de Nice) was bought by Napoleon III for 4 million Francs from Monaco and became part of France.

I wonder why those people are loitering there?
