Travellers or Countrymen?

Of course in the sixties there were loads of Minis on the roads but it’s still a coincidence that when the photographer snapped this scene in Ann Street, Gatehouse-of-Fleet for a postcard there were two Travellers present  Or are there? The green mini is a Morris Mini Minor and Morris estates were called Travellers. Austin Seven estates were called Countrymen and we can’t see enough of the red to know what it is.

  1. That other red one, parked behind the Humber Super Snipe, is a Riley One-Point-Five. Close relative of my Wolseley 1500, a type of car that I hope to see on this enjoyable blog, one day…

  2. In the far background we have a Volvo 121 ‘Amazon’ estate, another Mini, and what looks to me like MK2 Jaguar (or Daimler 250 equivalent), and a Vauxhall PB Velox or Cresta.

  3. The more you look, the more you see! I agree. Thanks for your comment. Bob
